Corporate Guarantee & Insurance Company (CGIC) launches a Contest for Employees and Promo for Walk-in Clients in connection with its 15th Anniversary celebration. This is a 6-month long contest and promo which will end on the 16th of July 2012 to give way to the preparation for the main event – 15th Anniversary celebration on 25th July 2012.
There will be a thrice a month sending of trivia questions on the e-mail for the qualified CGIC employees to send their quickest reply on the correct answer and the corresponding winning employee will be given a special prize.
A qualified walk-in client could also win a FREE CGIC Personal Accident Insurance Gold Plan in any given day of the month. The CGIC Personal Accident Insurance covers the insured person 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, at work or at play, while on board any kind of public conveyance used for land, sea or air travel and anywhere in the world (excluding war torn countries and the like). CGIC bags best in CSR award
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Corporate Guarantee and Insurance Company (CGIC) was awarded Best in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) during the 1st Philippine Insurers and Reinsurers Association (PIRA) Awards Night held at The Peninsula Manila last October 21.
CGIC, an affiliate of the Laus Group of Companies – the leading automotive dealership network in the country -- earned the plum through its various CSR programs and activities that include seminars on safety driving, auto-preventive maintenance and trouble shooting, safety driving tips and proper vehicle maintenance via tri-media and the website.
The award is another feather in the cap of CGIC and considered as a milestone achievement since CGIC competed against other top finalists such as: ACE Insurance Company of North America, BPI/MS Insurance Corporation, Fortune General Insurance Corporation, MAA General Assurance Philippines, Malayan Insurance Company, MAPFRE Insular Insurance Corporation, Perla Compania de Seguros, Philippine Charter Insurance Corporation, Pioneer Insurance & Surety Corporation, QBE Insurance (Philippines), Reliance Surety & Insurance Company, Seaboard-Eastern Insurance Company, Utility Assurance Corporation and Visayan Surety & Insurance Corporation.
All the finalists belong to the industry’s top performing non-life insurance companies.
The award is the industry’s way of honoring its best members, particularly in the fields of “Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility”. All 87 member companies are candidates for the said awards. CGIC was among the 15 finalists chosen under the Corporate Social Responsibility category after the initial screening process was made based on the questionnaires submitted by each PIRA member.
Four other non-life insurance firms were also given the same award, namely: Malayan Insurance Company, MAPFRE Insular Insurance Corporation, BPI/MS Insurance Corporation, and Pioneer Insurance and Surety Corporation.
The theme for the 1st PIRA Awards is “MALASAKIT”, which mean in simple translation as “genuine concern”. It embodies everything that the non-life insurance industry wants to show to its customers, the Filipino society and to the entire country. In line with this theme, the CSR programs of the finalists should meet the required criteria for impact, uniqueness and sustainability to be considered as winners.
Established in 1997, CGIC has been among the top performing non-life insurance firms and only one of seven in the industry with ISO-9001:2008 Certification CGIC is also the first such firm to establish its headquarters outside Metro Manila.
ISO Audit for Re-Certification
On March 31, 2010 Corporate Guarantee and Insurance Company has been awarded its ISO 9001:2008 Recertification after passing the rigorous audit conducted SGS Philippines. The annual audit intends to verify the company's continuous adherence to the ISO standards.
SGS Philippines' audit sought to confirm if the company's Quality Management System (QMS) conforms with all the requirements of the audit standard; and if the QMS has been effectively implemented and is capable of achieving the company's overall objectives.
Headed by its President & COO Mr. Gilbert Fernandez, CGIC completed the audit process with no major findings, proving once again that the company has established and maintained its management system in line with the standards acknowledged worldwide.
It is with great honor that the company celebrates its recertification; now on its 6th year. CGIC's hardworking team join hands in making the institution a more dynamic and stable non-life insurance company that upholds its commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction.
CGIC: 14 Years of Valuing Our Commitment

July 25, 2011 marked the 14th birthday of Corporate Guarantee and Insurance Company (CGIC), a world-class non-life insurance company under the Laus Group of Companies. The week-long occasion was celebrated by clients, officers, and employees of the company. The anniversary celebration jumpstarted on July 23, 2011 as CGIC accepted its new Certificate of Authority, an annual license to operate granted to insurance companies by the Insurance Commission under the guidance of the Department of Finance. To receive this annual license means that the insurance firm has complied with the strict requirements of the regulatory institution. “We are happy about the granting of our annual license because it not only continually acknowledges our faithful compliance with regulatory requirements but bolsters our confidence and commitment to serve our clients the best way we can,” said CGIC President and COO Gilbert M. Fernandez. With the dedication to provide excellent service, CGIC maintains to meticulously adhere with the standards and demands set by regulatory and certifying bodies such as the Insurance Commission and ISO. It is with great gratitude that CGIC is now on its 14th year. As a way to thank everyone for these rewarding years and to ask for more prosperous years ahead, CGIC officers attended a Holy Mass at the San Fernando Cathedral. Also during the week, CGIC launched the “14th Anniversary Promo”. To treat its clients, free products from Voltronic, a renowned German brand of motor oil and lubricants, were given away. This promo featured top-of-the-line car care products to complement its customers’ car needs. With the aim to delight the customers, the staff surprised the walk-in clients with special freebies. One customer commented, “[CGIC is] excellent in all aspects. That's the reason why we are here.” This attests that clients see and feel the kind of service that CGIC has committed to them. CGIC is aiming at achieving further to ensure that its valued clients can expect greater products and services. Meanwhile, the celebration does not stop there; this 14th year is also a preparation for CGIC’s 15th Anniversary in 2012.
