BRIEF HISTORY
Corporate Guarantee and Insurance Company( CGIC ), is a non-life insurance company registered with Securities and Exchange Commission on June 19, 1997. It received its license from the Office of the Insurance Commissioner on July 25, 1997 at Holiday Inn Hotel in Clark Field, Pampanga, Philippines. It is one of the more than 40 companies under the umbrella of the LausGroup of Companies, a business oraganization with interest in automotive, non-life insurance, real estate, financing, tri-media, restaurant, tires, motor oil distribution, magwheels distribution and petroleum products.
CGIC has ranked in the top 30 non-life insurance players in the Philippines on its tenth year of operations. It continues to move up the ladder as it expands and develops a wider network of operations. CGIC has earned the ISO 9001:2000 Certification in April 2004, making it among the only five Non-Life Insurance Companies in the Philippines to be ISO Certified. This means that its Quality Management System conforms to the global standards. CGIC moved to its own building located beside Carworld, Inc., in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga on July 2004. This home is a manifestation of the non-life insurance company’s strength, stability and its readiness to handle its growing clientele.

ABOUT THE CHAIRMAN
To describe Liberato “Levy” P. Laus as the founder of the LausGroup may not be totally accurate. The word “founder” may be an understatement; it may not impart the totality of all that’s important in the LausGroup’s beginnings. For Levy, his growing conglomerate is the product of a steady evolution, a process that began in 1978, the year he decided to leave his steadily rising career as a banker and go on his own.
Levy chose to stay in his beloved hometown of San Fernando in Pampanga. He ventured into the automotive business, believing strongly in the potential of the countryside to bloom into a market that could, in time, be at par with that of Metro Manila. Now, almost three decades later, the LausGroup has grown to become a driving force in the economy North Luzon in particular and of the Philippines in general. Its guiding slogan-”A Passion for Cars and Customer Care”- is indicative of the company’s drive to provide only expert services and quality products to its patrons.
The mention of Levy Laus’ name in Pampanga is almost equivalent to saying Business or Customer Service. His credibility as a world-class businessman while being faithfully “countryside” is without question.
